On May 6th, a local man named William bought a scratch-off ticket at an Acme Fresh Market in Norton and won $100,000 from the $2,000,000 Cashword game.
After taxes he will take home about $72,000—Ohio Lottery officials said that six more $100,000 prizes remain in the game.
Medina council approved a final contract with the Ruhlin Company — costing $7.6 million — for renovating the 1969 Courthouse, bringing the total cost near $10.6 million.
Once renovations are complete, the municipal court will move to the renovated building.
Medina council approved legislation to start soil testing at the former Sunoco site at 426 W.
Liberty St using a $300,000 grant + $100,000 in matching funds, and Economic Development Director Kimberly Marshall said remediation is expected to take three to four months. The council also approved the purchase of a 2025 Ford F-600 cab and chassis for $69,000 + a Mark III utility single axle dump body for $70,000 to replace the current truck in the street department.
Vietti Food Group is recalling 4,515 cases of its Yellowstone Brown Sugar Molasses Baked Beans because they may contain undeclared soy— which could cause a serious allergic reaction.
The recall affects sales in Ohio, Pennsylvania— and other states, and customers are asked to return the product for a full refund.
