EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Medina Board of Education approved a grade reconfiguration that moves fifth and sixth graders to Root and seventh and eighth graders to Claggett beginning with the 2027-28 school year. The change, made on Feb. 25 to address declining enrollment and funding pressures, is expected to save $1.5 million annually. Cleveland.com

- ➤ A single squirrel chewed through a county fiber line on Feb. 20, cutting off phone and Internet service at key government offices in Medina — repairs replaced about 500 feet of cable by 6 p.m. Sunday, and officials now plan upgrades to avoid future outages. Cleveland.com
