  • Main Street Medina offers Christmas ornaments this holiday season featuring the John Smart House to support local events and preservation projects. The $25 ornaments with $6 shipping are available online + at community stores, continuing a 16-year tradition.  Cleveland.com
  • Medina County’s Leadership organization will celebrate 35 years with its Excellence in Leadership Awards Celebration on March 5 at the Blue Heron Event Center. The event will honor leaders in Business, Healthcare, Education, Public Service and local leadership across the county.  Cleveland.com

BUSINESS NEWS

  • ParTake Kitchen will open at its new Blake Avenue location in Medina, offering allergy-friendly options, specialty foods and convenient pre-order pickup service. The local catering company expands its operations to better serve residents.  Cleveland.com

CULTURE NEWS

  • Medina Library is hosting its final art show of the year, Artists Sharing the Gift of Art, which is on display at the B. Smith Gallery (3rd floor) until Jan. 12 and features work by 10 local artists.  Cleveland.com
  • At McDowell-Phillips House Museum on Dec. 13, a dozen children sang holiday songs, listened to Christmas stories, and shook bracelet bells in time with carols before enjoying hot cocoa and candy with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The event was organized by the Medina County Historical Society.  Cleveland.com

HEALTH NEWS

  • Medina Fire Department held its second annual cancer screening for 35 firefighters on Dec. 10 and 11 using the Galleri blood test funded by a donation from the Park Foundation + free skin cancer screenings by Trillium Creek Dermatology while seeking additional funding until FDA approval.  Cleveland.com

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Medina County Park District will offer many free outdoor programs this January — scavenger hunts at Oenslager Nature Center from Jan. 1-4, hikes at Killbuck Lakes on Jan. 3 and at Sharon Preserve on Jan. 15, plus bird walks on Jan. 17 and Jan. 31 — that let residents explore local trails.  Cleveland.com
