Access the Arts placed giving trees at Foundry Social (333 Foundry St.) and The Common Ground (220 N.
State Road) in Medina County, where community members can pick up homemade holiday ornaments and donate via a QR code. The trees will stay up until Christmas and donations as low as $25 will help fund art classes, supplies, and even guitar lessons.
On Nov. 6, community leaders met at the Medina Library to launch a fundraiser for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library— a program that sends free monthly books to 6,000 local children while the state pays half of the $7,800 monthly cost and new donors cover expenses until January.

At Blue Heron Ballroom on November 12, local supporters gathered to celebrate ORMACO's 15 years of cultural programming.
The event featured live music by Jerry Popiel and a dinner honoring founder Thomas Sigel — who helped grow the group from one event a quarter to 47 programs last year.

At its Nov. 13 board meeting, Medina City School District officials explained a new plan that helps students learn about different career paths from preschool through high school.
Officials said the strategy, which highlights eight career options and includes capstone projects at Medina High, was supported by surveys and focus groups (showing a strong community partnership).

Local experts say homeowners should delay garden cleanup until early spring to let native plants shelter insects and birds during winter — a natural boost for the local ecosystem.
Marc Wise of Native Landscapes and Gardens noted that standing plant material offers insulation and food for wildlife.

Mayor Dennis Hanwell honored Phyllis Porter on November 10 for 69 years of service at Porter’s Shoe Repair, which will now operate as PeDe Camp Works Shoe Repair at 799 N.
Court Street—Porter, who retired earlier this month, thanked the Medina community for its long-standing support and recalled the legacy begun in 1956 by Robert Porter.
