Court St. in Medina has provided free meals and services to teens and adults for 18 years — its new name reflects its mission to gather community support. Executive Director Cindy Maxwell explained the change at a recent fundraiser.

The Medina County Park District partnered with Feeding Medina County to hold a food drive throughout November to help those affected by the federal shutdown—non-perishable items such as pasta, rice, and canned soup will be accepted at the park district’s administrative offices and Oenslager Nature Center. Eligible items must be unopened, not past best-by dates, and economy-sized portions or glass products will be declined.

A Cleveland photographer assisted a Medina nonprofit caring for 35 rescued foxes in launching a photo calendar — proceeds will fund an expansion of the sanctuary to better house the animals.
