  • Medina native Noah Mowery, a Baldwin Wallace University graduate, opened his vintage clothing shop The Thrifting Tree at 44 W. Bridge Street in downtown Berea to offer sustainable retro style—building on the success of his online side gig that began in middle school. The store launched on Sept. 20 and will restock regularly.  Cleveland.com
  • Malley's Chocolates, Great Lakes Brewing Company and Heinen's have teamed up to create a new Toffee Amber Lager inspired by Malley's famous Bordeaux chocolate— the beer will be available soon, offering a unique blend from three trusted brands.  WKYC

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Gas prices in Northeast Ohio increased this week as drivers in Akron now pay $2.96 per gallon after an 18.9-cent rise, while drivers in Cleveland pay $3 per gallon after a 10.2-cent jump. GasBuddy data showed Cleveland’s prices remain slightly lower than a month and a year ago — highlighting regional differences in pricing.  WKYC

  • Early voting for Ohio's November 4 general election begins today—Medina voters can vote absentee by mail or in person during set hours that vary over the next weeks. Absentee ballot applications must be received by Oct. 28 and Election Day polls will operate from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.  WKYC
