Medina County District Library branches will host free Halloween events at Medina, Highland and Brunswick libraries from Oct.
11 through Nov. 3, with activities such as a fall foliage tour, pumpkin painting, cupcake contest and costume dance party available for kids and teens — some events require registration while others do not. Participants can choose from hands-on crafts and themed contests that bring local autumn fun to all ages.
🎓 Education
Medina City Schools will launch its new website on Sept.22 after officials previewed it with drone footage that shows easy access to ProgressBook — the site offers links to school calendars, athletics, and other key resources for parents and students.
The website also provides centralized pages for building information, registration, and service details.
Medina High School's homecoming weekend kicks off Oct.
9 with a parade starting at Garfield at 6 p.m. led by Mayor Dennis Hanwell (serving as grand marshal) and featuring a World of Imagination theme that ties into America 250; a Powderpuff game follows at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday while the homecoming football team faces Brunswick with fireworks after the game on Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.

Step Up to Prevent Suicide Community Awareness Walk
Registration is open for our annual “Step Up to Prevent Suicide” Awareness Walk, happening on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Medina Public Square. This free afternoon community walk coordinated by the Medina County Coalition for Suicide Prevention brings together individuals, families, and organizations across the county to raise awareness, honor those we’ve lost, and support those who are struggling.
