COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Main Street Medina will host its Fall Festival on Sept. 27 at Medina Square and Broadway Street with events including a hay maze, pumpkin painting, a petting zoo, and a farmer’s market. The festival will also feature a dance performance at 11 a.m., a line dancing lesson at 11:30 a.m., and a Puppy Parade at the courthouse entrance — a chili cookoff benefiting Cups Café — that promises fall fun for families.  Cleveland.com

CULTURE NEWS

  • Main Street Medina added a Ghost and Gobblin' Walk to its fall schedule that sold out by Sept. 1 and is set for Oct. 16. Two mini haunt experiences offer more chances to join—one at Monarca Cantina on Oct. 23 with a ghostly dinner special and one at Sully's Irish Pub on Oct. 29 with spooky tales and a phantom dessert.  Cleveland.com

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Scientists say hurricanes help balance Earth’s climate by moving heat northward — a process that can affect local weather, including moisture levels and winter temperatures in Medina. Their activity also brings needed rainfall that eases summer dryness and supports colorful fall foliage.  WKYC

FINANCE NEWS

  • On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, the Ohio Lottery reported no winner for the $35 million Powerball jackpot even though the winning numbers were 2, 24, 45, 53, 64—5, with a $100,000 prize claimed at Circle K in Oakwood Village. The jackpot climbs to $50 million for the next drawing scheduled for today at 10:59 p.m.  WKYC

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City officials said testing and cleanup began at the former Sunoco site at 426 W. Liberty St. and a soil sample sent to Columbus will soon confirm no further action is needed—City Engineer Patrick Patton is helping get restoration quotes with options like stone fill or grass planting expected to finish by the end of the year.  Cleveland.com
  • City Engineer Patrick Patton said the waterline replacement on West Liberty, Elmwood and West Washington is complete and pavement restoration started last week—milling and resurfacing are set to begin next Tuesday. Council approved appointments to the Archive and Airport Commissions and called for applications for an alternate zoning appeals board member by Friday October 3rd.  Cleveland.com

  • 3News visited Cloverleaf High School on Friday to talk with players and the head coach about the school’s football program—part of a series highlighting Northeast Ohio schools. The report detailed team efforts as they prepare for upcoming games.  WKYC
