Canine Companions is celebrating 50 years in Medina by hosting a fundraiser called Ready Pet GO—this event features puppies Picasso and Fifty who are training to become service dogs.

Actor Chris Pine was seen filming his upcoming movie Carousel with co-stars Jenny Slate, Katey Sagal, and Sam Waterston at Akron-Canton Airport and Medina’s Uptown Park.

The film's plot remains secret — and filming will finish by mid-September as part of Northeast Ohio's expanding film production.

Registration is open for our annual “Step Up to Prevent Suicide” Awareness Walk, happening on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Medina Public Square. This free afternoon community walk coordinated by the Medina County Coalition for Suicide Prevention brings together individuals, families, and organizations across the county to raise awareness, honor those we’ve lost, and support those who are struggling.
