The Medina County Park District has launched its 20th annual Trekking Through Autumn challenge.

Residents can complete at least eight hikes across 11 parks plus one chosen park by Nov. 30 for rewards like a backpack or pin; hikes range from 1 to 3.4 miles long (open from dawn to dusk).

Medina Library is hosting the Brown Baggin’ It exhibit by Women in Art, featuring paper bag artworks on display until Sept.

27. The exhibit is on the library’s third floor at 210 S. Broadway and will host a reception on Sept. 12 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Medina City Schools will host Coffee & Conversations events with Superintendent Aaron Sable to discuss school district matters.

The sessions will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at Cool Beans Café — Wednesday, Nov. 18 at Root Candles Community Room — and Wednesday, Jan. 20 at Medina Community Recreation Center.

Medina County District Library will host three fall events: author Patrick Ryan speaks at Brunswick Library on Sept.

15 at 6:30 p.m., a free family program called Keep on Truckin’ runs at Buckeye Library on Sept. 19, and debut author Douglas Westerbeke presents at Medina Library on Oct. 22.

Medina has launched the Ask Medina program so residents can email for answers on city questions + access updates on the deer management program and order commemorative America 250 items from City Hall.

Medina Parks & Recreation raised the pay range for seasonal workers in March, which helped fill every available position this summer.

Many of the workers plan to return next season to support park services and local events.
