- ➤ Medina Community Recreation Center will soon install a universal changing station thanks to a $10,500 donation from local business Foundations Worldwide Inc — a provider of children’s products. The station will be mounted in a family changing room with custom signage provided by the County Board of Developmental Disabilities and help from school maintenance staff. Cleveland.com

- ➤ Two bestselling authors will visit the Medina County District Library soon. Suspense writer Lisa Unger will speak at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 25 at the Medina Library at 210 S. Broadway St—author Mary Nihn is set for 6:30 p.m. Oct. 1 with an interactive talk and book signing. Cleveland.com
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Medina finance committee approved $5,000 funding for nonprofit Medina Meow Fix—an effort to trap, neuter, and release feral cats as a continuation of its two-year program—with 10% allocated to the SPCA as an administrative fee. The nonprofit must provide receipts to the SPCA to receive reimbursement for veterinary bills. Cleveland.com
- ➤ Medina Fire Department Chief Larry Walters said yesterday that the Park Foundation donated $50,000 to help pay for personal protective equipment for firefighters—allowing the department to buy turnout gear gradually. This donation will ease the cost burden as the department plans to purchase equipment over the coming years. Cleveland.com
