EDUCATION NEWS

  • Medina City Schools has updated its safety rules for home football games and will require students to be with an adult and ban large bags starting Friday night at Ken Dukes Stadium — the district introduced these measures after regional safety incidents to ensure a secure environment. The new rules apply to students from kindergarten through high school as the Bees host Wadsworth.  WKYC

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Medina County Sheriff's Office now uses energetic breaching to safely enter barricaded buildings using a controlled explosion that avoids harming those inside—this method comes from observations made across the country. SWAT Commander Ryan Gibbons said the tool is not as dramatic as movie explosions—ensuring a safer approach to difficult situations.  News 5 Cleveland
