- ➤ The Medina Recreation Center is hosting its first Let's Skate Medina: Intro to Skateboarding event at Reagan Skate Park on Sunday, Sept. 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free event features professional skateboarding demos, beginner lessons costing $30 for residents and $35 for non-residents — and will include a DJ, food trucks, and skateboards and helmets for new skaters. - ➤ Dave Grunenwald, an award-winning author and attorney, spoke on 3News to encourage kids from Northeast Ohio to help others through simple acts of kindness + he explained that even small good deeds can make a big difference within our community. WKYC
- ➤ Local groups are preparing for a busy week—as Boy Scouts quickly set up fencing at Heritage Farm for Spring Mist Farm’s market and the Ohio Local History Alliance releases a new book on Revolutionary War veterans now available in libraries and schools. Additional community events include a $3 million gift to expand trades programs at the Medina County Career Center, bus trips to a new musical, fundraisers and local blood drives scheduled for the coming days—showing strong support across Medina. - ➤ Medina High School was ranked 60 by U.S. News & World Report, placing it in the top 6 percent of state schools. The school improved from 68 in 2024 and is now 19th in the Cleveland metro area and 2nd in Medina County—school leaders credit improved teaching and deep learning practices for the achievement. - ➤ On Sept. 23, the Medina Lady Bees volleyball team will play a fundraiser game at Medina High School Gym to support local cancer patients through The Mary Grace Memorial Foundation — with raffles, food, and spirit wear available to help cover costs that insurance does not pay. Cleveland.com

Registration is open for our annual “Step Up to Prevent Suicide” Awareness Walk, happening on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Medina Public Square. This free afternoon community walk coordinated by the Medina County Coalition for Suicide Prevention brings together individuals, families, and organizations across the county to raise awareness, honor those we’ve lost, and support those who are struggling.
