The Giving Place resale store, founded two years ago by Stephanie Furey and Angel Kiefer at 1095 N.

Court St. in Medina, has raised $356,000 for more than 15 local charities through sales and volunteer work—its July 13 volunteer event drew over 125 people in celebration. The store now seeks volunteers to sort and price donated items and continues to accept items such as furniture, clothing, and household goods.

Ohio shoppers will enjoy a 14-day sales tax holiday starting Friday, Aug 1 as most items costing up to $500 will be exempt from state sales tax—this break covers electronics, clothing, books and more and will end on Thursday, Aug 14.

New GasBuddy data showed that gas prices fell across Northeast Ohio as drivers in Akron paid $2.84 per gallon after prices dropped 16.6 cents since last week—Cleveland fuel cost also fell by 10.9 cents.
