Medina Police are applying for a $42,000 grant from the Justice Assistance Program to upgrade their dispatch software, which will replace flip cards with computer-populated emergency instructions.
Police Chief Ed Kinney said the department spent 18 months researching the upgrade and will pay an $8,000 annual fee while reviewing the contract each year — a move to improve emergency call response.
