The National Weather Service confirmed an EF0 tornado touched down in western Medina County on Monday at 3:57 p.m. and lasted two minutes, causing tree damage, minor roof damage, and damage to an unoccupied barn.
This event is the 22nd tornado to hit Ohio this year — with 64 tornadoes recorded by this time last year.
The Medina County Health Department confirmed that a mosquito from a surveillance trap at the Susan Hambley Nature Center in Brunswick tested positive for West Nile virus—no human cases have been reported and residents are urged to use insect repellent and wear protective clothing to avoid bites.
