- ➤ Medina County's 12th annual Safety Town Plus program for children with special needs ran from June 23 to 27 at the Medina County Achievement Center where kids learned traffic, bike, 911 and pet safety through interactive activities. The event featured a fire department demonstration—Lt. Johnathon Tibbs in full gear showed children they need not be afraid—and the kids even climbed through a fire truck engine and enjoyed a cool fire hose shower on a hot day. Cleveland.com
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Medina residents Glenn Lattz and Linda Shidler, owners of NoPee LLC, made a product to stop pets from marking indoors and won third place at the Orlando Global Pet Expo in March plus earned a fast pass from Walmart at a Columbus event in June. They will pitch to Walmart buyers at a two-day event in Bentonville in October and are preparing to boost production if the retailer decides to carry their product. Cleveland.com

- ➤ Medina is waiting for lab results from soil samples taken at the former Sunoco site at 426 W. Liberty Street—Economic Development Director Kimberly Marshall said the package sent to the state must receive a no further action letter for redevelopment to move forward later this summer.
