  • The Medina County Board of Developmental Disabilities will host a free Community Ice Cream Social on June 26 from 6-8 p.m. on Medina Public Square — all ages can enjoy ice cream, carnival games, crafts and activities while the event will move indoors to the Medina County Achievement Center if the weather is bad.  Cleveland.com
  • Mailman Ian Burke rushed to a local shelter to be first in line to adopt Floyd—whose previous owner, a Vietnam veteran, passed away—and is now set to bring him home.  WKYC
  • The Medina County Park District will open its 23rd park in Valley City on July 4 — named the Zachary A. Weber Riverside Park — to honor Zachary Weber, who died in 2024 and whose birthday would have been his 23rd. The park will have stone steps to the Rocky River and a picnic shelter for families to gather on the holiday.  Cleveland.com

  • Thousands are without power in Northeast Ohio after storms rolled through yesterday evening — Ashland County had 500 outages while Lorain and Richland counties recorded 4,686 and 1,873 outages, with hundreds also affected in Medina, Cuyahoga, Mahoning, Sandusky, Summit and Trumbull counties.  FOX 8
