- ➤ Medina council is considering legislation that would let the police upgrade their duty handguns by purchasing 46 new 9-millimeter pistols to replace older .40 caliber guns that have been used for over seven years — Police Chief Ed Kinney said the department plans to offset costs up to $35,000 by trading in older firearms and to apply for its annual grant to support school resource officers.
