Wadsworth City Schools officials outlined sweeping cuts after the May 5 levy failure, increasing class sizes, cutting 32.75 positions and reducing costs for technology, transportation and custodial support—some changes are already in place as officials plan to update the district's financial forecast for a November vote.
Councilor Bill Lamb will discuss removing parking spaces near the square’s crosswalks at the next meeting to boost pedestrian safety; city officials plan to begin a study (June-Oct.) on traffic and parking in the area.
During Tuesday’s council meeting, Medina officials announced a $242,360 state grant was received through the Ohio Department of Development's Brownfield Remediation Assessment Program to fund environmental studies at South Elmwood parking lot.
The funds will support geophysical surveying and trenching work for future redevelopment.
