- ➤ Habitat for Humanity of Medina County held its Blueprints and Blue Jeans fundraiser on May 8 at Williams on the Lake, drawing 170 guests for dinner and an auction — funds raised will help build more safe and affordable homes and support home modification projects for older adults. Cleveland.com
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Scammers have been calling and sending emails to residents, pretending to be court officials to demand money for missed jury duty, and court officials warn that federal courts never request payments by phone or email — those contacted should report the scam to local law enforcement. WKYC
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Medina Council approved a three-year lease on May 12 with the Medina Metropolitan Housing Authority to use the current Municipal Court building after the court moves to the 1969 Courthouse in spring. The Housing Authority will cover upkeep while the city retains use of the basement for storage, saving about $24,000 a year in maintenance costs. Cleveland.com
