On April 24, third-graders from Medina elementary schools were bused to Williams on the Lake to attend the Arbor Day luncheon where they presented winning posters and learned about our city’s tree planting tradition.

The event was hosted by the Medina Noon Kiwanis Club — which has provided tree seedlings for 44 years — honoring a legacy started by Harold Thoburn.

Rick Adler, a decorated Vietnam combat veteran from North Ridgeville, said the 50th anniversary of the fall of Saigon reminds him that the war never ended for those who served.

He survived an eight-hour ambush and was hurt by mortar fragments+ he asks Americans to honor all veterans.

Mike Polk Jr. visited Rescue Village—home to over 30 adoptable cats—to honor National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day and encourage local families to consider adoption.
