Main Street Medina announced that new features on South Court Street will be installed this fall as part of the district plan, with business and property owners involved in the design.
The upgrades include a 20-foot illuminated gateway entrance pillar at South Court and Smith — 15-foot pillars at South Court and Lafayette and 16 flowerpots on the tree lawn to create a rustic look, funded by $62,000 in grant money.
Medina High School will present Showtime on May 9 and May 10 at the Medina Performing Arts Center—a 55-year tradition that features performances by all six choirs and various student ensembles.
A preview show open for senior citizens will be held on May 8 at 4 p.m., and tickets cost $12 for adults and $8 for students.
Medina plans to lease the Municipal Court building at 135 North Elmwood Street to the Medina Metropolitan Housing Authority for three years after the court staff move to the 1969 Courthouse in spring 2026—city officials approved the proposal on April 28 and the council will review it in May. The city will not charge rent while the housing authority handles utilities and building maintenance.
