- ➤ Main Street Medina Farmers Market will begin its 21st season on May 17, opening from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Medina’s historic square and will run every Saturday until Oct. 4. The market will introduce free weekly yoga demonstrations + a garden educational series to help visitors learn healthy eating and grow fresh produce + SNAP benefits will allow eligible shoppers to buy fresh produce. - ➤ Medina students earned academic honors at several local colleges—Medina’s Reagan Kole and Zachary Hartman were recognized at University of Mount Union on April 22 during SCHOLAR Day, Morgan Beckler was honored at University of Alabama on April 4, and Kathy Habian received a leadership award at Ohio Wesleyan on April 16. - ➤ Medina's Service and Sanitation Department has used an in-house CDL training program to attract drivers amid labor shortages—now the program enrolls two trainees at a cost of $400 compared to $5,000 for outside courses. - ➤ Northeast Ohioans can drop off unwanted prescription and over-the-counter drugs today for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, coordinated by University Hospitals and Cleveland Clinic.
