At the April 14 meeting, 100+ Women Who Care Medina voted to fund Collin Cares Cure Cancer, a nonprofit started during Collin Kiousis’s battle with rare cancer.

The group raised over $500,000 in 10 years and helped 72 families this year + donated an average of $650 per family.

Youth advocates gathered at Williams on the Lake on April 18 to honor students and community partners (schools, law enforcement, nonprofits) working for drug-free, non-violent living in local schools.

Brunswick High School student Adison Deemer was among the honorees as the SHARE Coalition also spotlighted efforts to curb vaping.

The Medina County Arts Council is partnering with Medina Hardware at 225 S.

Court St to invite local artists to apply for a window display running from May 5 through June 16 — selected artists must drop off their work on May 1, 2, or 4 and sign a release.

Medina will begin its annual fire hydrant flushing program next week starting April 27 in neighborhoods including Fair Road, Lafayette Road + Strawberry Fields and will continue through May 25; residents may notice temporary water discoloration and should run cold water until it clears.
