Medina will host its fifth annual Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.—combining the event with the Farmer's Market to welcome local food vendors, entertainers, and community groups.

Medina community members gathered at the Medina High School Performing Arts Center to honor longtime band director Gary Ciulla during a special tribute ceremony.

The main stage was named in his honor (celebrating a 35-year legacy of musical excellence and mentorship) and reflecting his enduring impact on local music education.

457 blue pinwheels marking last year's child abuse cases will be planted outside the Medina Library at the Community Pinwheel Walk Sunday, April 19 (12:30 to 2:45 p.m.).

The event will include family fun activities, resource tables, and a 1-mile walk to raise local awareness and support prevention.

Medina Parks and Recreation Director Jansen Wehrley said the department plans to convert two part-time laborer positions into one full-time role to reduce overtime and ease weekend staffing shortages during the busy season until October.

The change is expected to improve services during special events.
