ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Medina High School Girls Lacrosse Team faced a dangerous bus fire along Interstate 77 in West Virginia while returning from their spring break trip in the Carolinas, and coaches quickly evacuated all 15 players to a second bus that brought them safely back to Medina at 1 a.m. on Friday—volunteer firefighters responded, and investigators are looking into the cause—ensuring everyone was safe.  FOX 8

CRIME NEWS

  • In Sharon Township, the Medina County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly crash where 25-year-old Jacob King died and his passenger was seriously injured while the SUV driver was taken to hospital—deputies responded just before 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.  FOX 8
  • Medina police reported several incidents from March 25—27 including a female cited for underage consumption on Harmony Street, a break-in involving chainsaw theft on Lafayette Road, and additional calls for a hit/skip accident, disturbances, speeding, domestic issues, fraud, and a drug alert.  Cleveland.com

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine signed Senate Bill 1 on March 27th banning DEI initiatives at public colleges—The Senate passed the bill 20 to 11 on Wednesday before it reached his desk.  WKYC

SPORTS NEWS

  • On opening day, Kyle Manzardo shined as the Cleveland Guardians beat the Kansas City Royals 7-4 on Thursday, becoming only the third MLB player to hit a double, triple and home run and tying the club record with four RBIs with his two-run double in extra innings. Gavin Williams is scheduled to face Seth Lugo later today as the teams resume their three-game series — a matchup that saw Emmanuel Clase pick up the win and Paul Sewald earn the save.  WKYC
